Belle has been with me for two years now. I have lived with feline sweethearts. I have lived with feline bullies. But I have never lived with such a … quirky … cat as Belle before.

I didn’t choose Belle; she chose me. I spent over an hour at the Humane Society, with various adult cats (I had planned to get an adult cat) and finally accepted that none of them were quite my cat. On my way out, I glanced at a cage I had somehow missed, went over, opened the door — and this kitten leapt out, wrapped her front legs around my neck, and kissed my nose.

You can see that I had no choice.

How, exactly, is she quirky, you wonder?
