    Eeeuuu. I’ll pass on this one. Not a fan of chrysanthemums and inclined to think of hearts realistically. This reminds me of a starfish opening up a sea urchin. “Come outa there, you! I wanna eat you!”

    Chrysanthemums are beautiful flowers. I love ’em. I live in France, however, where they’re considered flowers for the dead.
    Did the pictorial poet use this fact knowingly? Perhaps so. I can see a lot of reasons why anybody would want to look into a loved one’s heart.
    The impact is even stronger if the loved one has passed away (hence the choice of the flower?)
