In
my previous creature-blended families, the cats were wary and the dogs
affectionate. This family is different, probably because the dogs are
Schnauzers, bred for hunting small critters. Boo and Spike both want to
be friends, to rub and snuggle; the dogs want to chase.
Lucy is,
understandably, distrustful of Spike, who has been known to bite. But
she knows she’s not allowed to snap, so she rolls her eyes and puts up
with him.
I wish someone would not allow me to snap.
