snapshot poem 02 september 02026

you walk the usual path
when suddenly you have passed
through a doorway you did not see
the landscape has changed
the road signs are in a language
you do not read there are maps
but they argue among themselves

the letters after your name
are irrelevant your documents
are incomplete the street signs
disagree with one another
animals in the fields seem
slightly sympathetic but they
are otherwise engaged

there are no directions but
it does not matter as you
do not know where you are
all the arrows collide and fog
is falling / you cannot see
who you are / you do not
know where you are going
