Snapshot Poem 10 June 02026

The day after the colonoscopy
I open the blinds to rain and roses.

The room was well-aired-out
yesterday. So was I.

I dreamed of a dead friend.
We did not touch. We spoke.

I was deaf. We looked at art,
though I was blind. This morning,

the roses are pink and smell
of rain. I have waited weeks

for a diagnosis. Now I wait
again. I am pink and I

smell of rain.
