NaHaiWriMo is providing prompts for National Haiku Writing Month on Facebook. I’m posting mine on Twitter, and will do a weekly roundup here at Watermark. The first week’s prompts were all on the theme of food:
this tuna casserole | delivered to my door by volunteers | tastes like childhood
that winter henhouse smell | the chickens’ arguments | sharper than mine
cheese knife | if only we | could part so cleanly

why does no one say | *eat your ice cream* | Lettuce & Turnips & Beets, Oh My!

a bowl of rice | a cup of tea | and you

old cowboy milking | perfect aim | cats’ open mouths

& an extra:
spilled milk | cat happy to help
