a poet’s notebook

colors

missoula skyline

driving into a purple sky
    a red house
    a yellow house

could i paint this?
    children running
    on a green field

then, the town square
    a domed building
    a military statue

who made these rules?

flags and banners
    boulevard trees
    bend in the wind

the aspen, singing
    could i paint this?
    all the blue light

Ok that poem spark this poem.
    Let the sky
baths me in it’s blue light.
    From that simple act,
the return of the quiet grace
of living a life with the claws.
For what more can fear take now?

Sharon, I just realized the second stanza has a goof in it. My fault, I was in hurry and at work too.
    the second stanza should read
    From that simple act.
The return of the quiet grace
of living a life without the claws.
the finaly verison is at my blog now.
