More than 10 years ago, I was involved in a somewhat high profile case of online sexual harassment that garnered me an interview in USA Today. I ended up writing about the topic as a contributor to a book called Wired Women: Gender and New Realities in Cyberspace.
At the time, women were only 10% of Internet users. We thought, perhaps, that if more women were online, the "boys club" atmosphere of the Internet would die down.
So it is with some disappointment that I read the following story. It’s an old story, actually…and now it’s about female bloggers. Sadly, some things don’t change…
