A timely reminder of what we hope to be.

GENERAL COLIN POWELL WILL LEAD THE NATIONWIDE ANNUAL TRADITIONAL RECITATION OF THE PREAMBLE TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2006 (11AM PST/ 2PM EST).

The
signing of the Constitution took place on September 17, 1787, at the
Pennsylvania State House (now called Independence Hall) in Philadelphia.

  PREAMBLE

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
