Poetry Thursday|NaPoWriMo Chapbook

Poetry Thursday

It has been a good mail week for me. I’ve been keeping this one for today — the
NaPoWriMo Chapbook, courtesy of Maureen:

napowrimo chapbook

Not only did she organize the NaPoWriMo poem-a-day marathon in April, but she then invited each of us to choose a poem for the chapbook, got the book made for us, and sent it on. A miracle, that woman; someone who actually accomplishes what she set out to do.

Not everyone who participated in NaPoWriMo contributed to the book — but I did. I chose this one.

And I’m pleased to be in such company — there’s Ivy, right at the top of the list. Ivy was one of the first poets to link to Watermark, and I have always felt an encouraging connection to her.

I’m going to list the contributors, with links to their sites when I can find them (some have a ? after, because I’m not sure I’ve got the right site) — but first, another poetic opportunity.

Here at Watermark, now and then, a spontaneous collaborative poem dance happens; I post a poem, and someone feels inspired to respond, and then it goes on for awhile. The longest one is crows, but there are others — and a new one may have begun, here. If you want to join in, just add your poem in comments (or email me) and I’ll add it to the post.

And here is the list of NaPoWriMo Chapbook poets — go cheeck out their sites; some good work, here:

  1. Well, damn. Why don’t I know about NaPoWriMo? I know, I do now. But why didn’t I know about it sooner?

  2. Heh.
You weren’t reading my blog, were you?

  3. I’ll admit, I chicken out on sending her a poem. I’m just not ready to take that step just yet. Maybe next year.

  4. I can’t wait till I get my copy! 🙂

  5. Yay! It’s such a groovy chapbook. And you’re right, Maureen is amazing.
Thanks for the linky-loo! And I was very pleased to’ve found you, all that time ago. 🙂
