NaPoWriMo ~ #22

NaPoWriMo

MP3 File

Once you lived in a city.
Tall buildings and thick
air, noisy traffic, yellow
cabs. Apartments with
blackened brick facades.
You were a child then.
You didn’t know.

Dresses and book bags,
cold breath at crowded
bus stops. Oblivious,
innocent, provocative,
shining hair tied back
with white ribbons. Up
& down the library steps.

  1. You in Minneapolis?

  2. Well, as is always the case with the “is that about you?” question — yes, and no.
