Today is going to be an old poem day, as I find I need a bit of transition from my recent projects to this one. I’ve posted my final Artist’s Way post, so now feel free to turn my attention to this new challenge.

Lesson Number One [says she to herself]: Do not be intimidated. This is about quantity, and play — not quality. It is in that spirit that I offer:

the bubbling place

I have been here
on the shore
all night

the channel is filled
with sea creatures

dolphins
whales
manatee

they call to me

I grow wings
& the angel
shows me how to use them

I have been lost
swimming
for a long time

flamingos & fire lizards
play together in a forest
stripped of leaves

they lose their ball
& look for it
in the pelican’s mouth

gulls & eagles & ravens fly
together in a great swarm
like bees

to the sea
