30 Days of Photos

From SyncSpeed, via Performancing.com:

Everyone wants to join the 30 Days of Photos Challenge.  You can too.
The purpose of this challenge is to just get out there shooting. So
many of us just plain don’t take the time to take photos. What better
way to jump-start our hobby than trying to one-up our fellow
photographers by posting a photo every day. Now, the hard part isn’t
taking a photo each day. It’s trying to get a photo worth showing every
day. I, for one, am interested in how long each person can keep up with
worthy photos. This exercise is really going to stretch our
imaginations and creative ability . . .

Hmm. As if I’m not already stretching my energy further than it wants to go. But — I like this challenge. It’s one I’m willing to accept at my own skill level, which is clearly far below the other participants. I’m going to tell you in another post why I think that’s OK.

A slight fudge — pretending this photo was taken on the first of March instead of February 28th — and I can begin with photos already taken:

Pencil shavings

March 2:

Toothpick holder

62 fish

March 3: The interesting squirrel

March 4:

Park bench

March 5:

Leftovers ~ found in the squirrel feeder

Now I shall have to pay even more attention to what I see. A good practice at all times.

  1. “Now I shall have to pay even more attention to what I see. A good practice at all times.”
You just described the exact reason why I joined up on it. I love that when we went to Chili’s I was looking at the lighting on my daughters face rather than the menu. There’s something right about that.

  2. Good exercise and nice results.

  3. Beautiful pictures.

  4. Thanks. Let’s see if my ideas last a whole month.

  5. There is something so haunting about the bird feathers picture – we know something probably happened to the bird – yet the snow is clean and white around the feather remains. But since you say “birdfeeder” perhaps they are just shed feathers and I am misreading it.

  6. Good eye, Niki.
I was doing my usual morning critter feeding, cup of feed in one hand, when I noticed the feathers and, without thinking, moved them out of the way, placing them on the car. Dumped the feed, looked at the car, and realized I had a photo.
It might well have been a better one had I thought quicker — but this is the one I got. Which, I suppose, adds that note of mystery …
