. . . cats sleep about 16 hours a day, which equates to about two-thirds of their life. In fact, cats get more sleep than virtually any other animal, about twice as much as most mammals.

TheCatSite:

Being nocturnal predators, cats tend to sleep during the day and keep awake during the night . . .  If you provide plenty of stimuli during the day, in the form of cat toys or a companion cat, the cat is more likely to keep awake during the day and then spend the night sleeping.

Why would you want to wear your cat out in the daytime?

To Avoid Cat-Related Sleep Deprivation:

Does your cat constantly wake you at night by either
playing on the bed, waking you to be fed, or wanting cuddle time when
all you want is sleep? Many people with sleeping disorders have
problems going back to sleep after being awakened by a cat. There is no
need to suffer from cat-related sleep deprivation. Try one or more of these suggestions to get a full night’s sleep, and still give your cat the attention he needs.

Here is a poll on where your cat sleeps at night. When I took it, the results showed:

40%     On my bed with me
39%     Anywhere s/he wants
08%     In her/his own bed alone
02%     With another cat
09%     Our bed is piled with cats

Until my doctor ordered otherwise, I would have been in the last category, except with dogs, too.

And finally we have  The Would My Cat Sleep With You? Test: Why not open up your options and consider dating a cat?  You never know where you will find true love.

No? Well, then, for more prosaic weekend entertainment, you might try:
