Poetry Is Not A Commercial Art

From a comment on Naming:

I read one of your
pieces I don’t remember
the name but it was
good.

But to me it seems
like I’d never need
to read
another.

Poetry surely

is not a
commercial
art.

~ B

OK, so I messed with it; put in line breaks and corrected typos. I
get such a kick out of this, and I’m not sure I can say why. I think
that, later today, I’ll send him a note (since he’s unlikely to return
here.)

I’ll send him to Poetry Daily,
where he can read one poem a day, and need never see another by the
same poet again. I’ll tell him he has the poetic knack of density, of
saying a lot in a few words, and leaving much for the reader to chew on.
