Tired

A brief excursion yesterday, to the eye doctor — less than two hours. A friend took me, so I didn’t have to drive, and I was sitting the whole time. Came home, ignored my happy dogs, stripped down, and crawled into bed.

I am learning from this illness the different qualities of tired, as Alaska taught me the qualities of light. There is too tired to brush your hair, and too tired to brush your teeth. There is too tired to wash the dish, and too tired to eat. There is too tired to do what you want, and too tired to do what you must.

There is too tired to think of a clever finish for this post.

My heart does go out to you. I crawled into bed myself this afternoon. I seem to be doing it more since the clocks changed. That also means that’s it’s usually dark after my nap. Still, I suppose that means I can light candles and a fire to sit in front of (unless I’m too tired).

Mmmm… i’ve learned that too. i have ‘blah blah’ days but i think i need to classify more narrowly because on some blah blah days i can sit at the computer and on others i have to stay horizontal.

i’ve really liked feeling tired earlier (with the light/clock change) because i’m trying to give up computers and television after 8pm. (well, i’ve given up tv permanently, i think). they’re too stimulating and i can’t relax to go to sleep early enough. so it’s really nice to feel tired!

I completely understand. It strikes me how different “tired” is for many people. I have phases of it, as you do. And I never know when it will hit either.

Have a good rest, be comforted, stay warm and allow yourself the time your body needs to recharge. It’s important {hug} 🙂
