I realize these online polls are anything but scientific, but I think they may reflect the strength of feeling on the part of voters. If, as the polls show now, Senator Kerry is a strong winner, it may mean that Democratic voters are strongly motivated. Strongly motivated voters vote.
I see there is controversy about Senators Kerry and Edwards mentioning the Cheney’s daughter during the debates. It is viewed by some as a political ploy, an attempt to embarrass and discredit President Bush and Vice President Cheney as hypocrites. Some are saying that mentioning family members in this context is, at least, in bad taste.
In neither case did it impress me this way, but then I don’t view having a gay or lesbian child/ sibling/ parent/ whatever, as cause for embarrassment. It seemed to me to be a way of personalizing the issue; pointing out that this is not a theoretical matter, but one that effects families everywhere.
The Hardball guy is getting a bit squirrelly, and suggests that Kerry should have asked Bush (re: the is homosexuality a matter of choice? issue) "When did you choose?"
I’m getting a bit squirrelly myself. Don’t know what inspired me to try blogging the debate; must be the result of being offline for TWO WHOLE DAYS. Sheesh.
