What’s Left Out

I realize that I never speak of politics here, or the war. It is not, as it may seem, that they are not on my mind. I watch, read, and listen to the news — no doubt more than is good for me. Anyone who knows me in "real life" would tell you that I hold strong opinions, and articulate them well. But not here.

And less often in general.  Is it age? Illness?

Despair?

Yesterday it was 78 degrees here, a record high. I sat in my garden with my notebook. I’ve hardly had a pen in my hand since I began this weblog.  Noisy spring, birds and squirrels courting and quarreling, a wasp cruising the edge of the pond.

I think it may be time to ease off here a bit, go back to paper. Go outdoors; go inside.

  1. Outdoors is good; maybe you just need a laptop and wireless access? 😉
(Be sure to stop back in and say hello every now and then.)

  2. A lot of people blog about any old thing. I love to read that sort of blog, but for some reason I’ve resisted writing one … My “Vivid” has stayed pretty focused on writing, and as a result reads like the outward sign of an inward life. The only outward thing are the reports from the adventures in publishing.
I do have an outward life in politics and movies and whatever — the least personal part of my life, but for some reason the one I’ve choosen not to share. I think your impulse might be the same.
Not that I know what that means.

  3. “. . . the outward sign of an inward life . . .”
    yes.
